Job Description
Rug & Kilim is hiring a full-time Sales Associate to represent our trade-only showroom in NYC. The primary responsibility of the Sales Associate will be to communicate with high-end designers on behalf of the Sales Manager, Vice President and President, cultivate relationships in the luxury fashion and interior design industries, and facilitate sales of high-end, handmade rugs and textiles. This position is full-time, with remote and on-site accessibility. Prior industry experience with interior designers is required, and key experience with high-end rugs and textiles is preferred.
Responsibilities:
Communicate on a day-to-day basis with the sales manager and design team
Research and cultivate new clients, including the most popular and appropriate designers and luxury brands
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree with a concentration(s) in sales, interior design, luxury home furnishing, fashion, marketing, or a related field
2+ years in sales (retail or remote) working with designers or with rugs, textiles, luxury home furnishing, interior design.
Ability to work independent and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Personable, ethical, and knowledgeable with clients.
Self motivated, personable, persuasive, and comfortable communicating in the high-end design industry.
Comfortable establishing new contacts via phone, email, in-person and digital communications
