Hand-knotted in wool circa 1960-1970, a 6×9 vintage rug from a joining our commemorative Mid-Century Pasha Collection. This selection joins Rug & Kilim’s curation of rare works believed to connote multi-disciplinary Turkish icon Zeki Müren.
On the Design:
The rug features a marriage of art deco inspiration and mid century modernism in chocolate brown, canary yellow, forest green with subtle black detailing in both the geometry and florals — exceptionally meticulous for this distressed style inherent to many of Müren’s works curated today. Such a play of uncommon, funky colors and such alive, joyful patterns exemplifies the artist’s renowned, collectible style.
A well-scaled selection in good condition further rare to this shabby-chic lineage, worthy of sophisticated projects welcoming whimsy and smart, one-of-a-kind design.
