1960s Vintage Distressed Runner in Beige-Brown and Pink Abstract Patterns

A vintage 3×9 mid-century runner from the Mid-Century Pasha Collection by Rug & Kilim. Hand knotted in low-pile wool in a distressed shabby-chic texture from Turkey circa 1950-1960, believed to be among the rare styles of multi-disciplinary Turkish icon, Zeki Müren.

This work connotes the artist’s rare marriages of Art Deco and abstract inspirations, exemplifying his unique, whimsical works. The design further enjoys playful patterns in subdued beige-brown colorways seldom seen in Muren’s creations. Keen eyes will note gentle pin accents in many of the floral motifs as well.
