July 7, 2020Antique Khotan Samarkand Transitional Blue and Red Wool Rug 10474
$4,160.00
$4,160.00Originating from East Turkestan between 1900-1920, this antique transitional Samarkand wool rug features a distinct, uncommon mirrored series of borders, complementing a finely drawn field design. Hand knotted in high-quality wool, the elegant series of red and pink flowers among green curvilinear vines are particularly dimension against the royal blue background, wrapped with three distinct red and rustic pink borders. Namely, it is uncommon to see the meandering key pattern in the innermost border reflected, as well as inverted, in this simple but precise fashion, dyed with bright tangerine red colorways to stand out from the more muted fretwork border in the middle.
