This antique 11×22 Indochinese Samarkand rug is a rare new addition to Rug & Kilim’s prized classic curations. Hand-knotted in wool, it’s a palace-size rug of outstanding provenance that originates circa 1920-1930.

This piece exemplifies the maximalist Chinese Deco style of the 1920s, and enjoys a brilliant gold medallion and geometric-floral pattern on a navy blue open field. Keen eyes will admire the smart play of similar hues with rust accents in the many geometric-floral patterns the field and border enjoys.
