This antique 12×18 Persian Sultanabad rug is an outstanding new addition to Rug & Kilim’s most rare classic curations. Hand-knotted in wool, it originates circa 1880-1890 and prevails in good condition for its age and origin—among many beauties.

The field background is a cool greige color, both inviting and able to sit beautifully under furniture in this near-palace size. Keen eyes will note subtle pink accents in the green floral patterns and blue borders alike. Such an unusual color, grand size, fine drawing, and regal presence exemplifies collectible Persian rugs of this coveted provenance.
