This antique Sultanabad rug from Rug & Kilim has an uncommon field orientation for a Persian rug. Originating from 1890-1900 in Persia, its well-drawn graph was designed with only vertical symmetry, whereas many Sultanabad rugs typically had both vertical and horizontal orientation. Both the geometric-floral medallion and the border were drawn with that same one-directional symmetry, emboldened by bright red, subtle blue, and gold colors. Thick, hand-woven wool pile, quick and easy to clean.
