Originating from Turkey between 1900-1920, this antique traditional Yuruk rug features two distinct geometric medallions with centric Gul symbols in beige and blue against a rich burgundy red background. Unique to this piece is that just as the colorways in the eight-pronged medallions flip, so do the spandrels surrounding them (possible allusions to Edjer dragon symbols of power and mastery of nature); framed in a wrapping geometric border green, blue, tan, White/Cream, and red protective eye and hook symbols.
