Vintage Ozbek Geometric Beige Brown and Blue Wool Runner 12738

Hand knotted in wool circa 1950-1960 among the rare rugs originating from Iraq, this vintage mid-century runner is a rare find, created in an Ozbek geometric style of mid-century rug. A traditional piece from Iraq, the foundation of this unique vintage rug is the green background upon which an all-over pattern of diamond shapes is arranged. Estimated to hail from the period of 1950-1960, the vintage wool Iraq rug features a geometric diamond pattern that relies on deep colors that are on the darker side of brown, green, and blue. These dark hues are complemented by a lighter cream shade and orange color, but the palette remains subdued without the presence of any brightness. The entire piece features a solid dark-blue border around the rug. At 2’11 x 9’9, this piece is ideal as a runner in a hallway upstairs or leading from the foyer through a long path into the rest of the house.
