Vintage Zeki Müren Rug in Green, Blue & White Floral Pattern, from Rug & Kilim

This vintage 5×9 rug is a new addition to Rug & Kilim’s Mid-Century Pasha Collection. This line is a commemoration, with rare curations we believe to hail from multidisciplinary Turkish designer Zeki Müren.

Hand-knotted in wool circa 1960-1970, its design marks the artist’s take on a fusion of European and Oriental rug styles. Keen eyes may note particularly the Persian Herati and Islimi floral patterns in green, blue & white as they might’ve been recaptured in a more transitional style.

Condition:

This mid-century Zeki Müren rug further enjoys good condition for its age and origin. Its construction has been lowered to preserve its construction, which lends it the distressed look of wear and chic in a low pile.
