Vintage Zeki Müren rug in Polychromatic Stripes by Rug & Kilim

This vintage 3×4 rug is an exciting new addition to Rug & Kilim’s Mid-Century Pasha Collection. This line is a commemoration, with rare curations we believe to hail from multidisciplinary Turkish designer Zeki Müren. Hand-knotted in wool, it originates circa 1960-1970.

This rug is one of this artist’s unique polychromatic designs, though it favors deep green with a brick red border in its many hues. The sheer detail is like so few in its period, and exemplary of Müren’s playful signature style.

Further on the Condition:

This mid-century rug further enjoys an otherwise good condition for its provenance. Keen eyes will note its pile has been lowered, which lends the construction this distressed texture.
