Vintage Afghan Tribal Kilim rug, with Stripes, from Rug & Kilim

Handwoven in wool, circa 1950-1960, this 6×8 vintage Afghan tribal kilim rug, with stripes in red, silver/gray, beige/brown, and blue, is from Afghanistan.

Connoisseurs will appreciate this kilim featuring the signature design of Afghan kilims, —- stripes. The design features all-over stripes in red, silver/gray, beige/brown, and blue. Striped pieces like this were often woven from several long, narrow pieces into one, due to the fact that the Afghan weavers had to work in smaller spaces. In good condition, this kilim rug is a very rich versatile piece.
