Originating from Persia in 1910, this antique wool kilim rug is one of a few unique ancestors to a family of rugs woven in vertical panels, each of the three with their own variation of a bold-yet-minimalist geometric design. Flat woven in high quality wool with a borderless field design, unique to this piece among its family is visual gravity created by asymmetry, employing similar wavelengths of multi tonal brown and black with beige as the intercepting color throughout each column to promote a universal sense of orientation and perspective underfoot.
