Vintage Ghazvin Persian Kilim in Blue and Red in Multicolor Patterns by Rug & Kilim

This vintage 4×10 Persian Kilim is believed to be a Ghazvin tribal rug from the titular city and Province in Iran (today spelled Qazvin). Handwoven in wool, it originates circa 1950-1960. 

Its design enjoys geometric patterns and an emphasis on burgundy and navy blue with beige and similar accents. Keen eyes will further note the background—a midnight blue with black notes and a gorgeous, grounding presence. It’s an exemplary flat weave in its rich, rustic old-world charm and personal details that distinguish Persian flat weaves to this day.

This mid-century Persian Kilim further enjoys good condition for its age and origin. It’s ready for the floor, and its versatile gallery runner size offers vast design applications today.
