Vintage Northwest Persian Kilim in Blue with Geometric Patterns from Rug & Kilim

This vintage 5×10 Persian Kilim is a tribal rug from Meshkin—a small northwestern Iranian village known for its fabulous works. Handwoven in wool, it originates circa 1950-1960.

On the Design:

This Northwest Kilim design prefers a dark blue field and red border, both with vibrant geometric patterns in varied colors. Keen eyes will further admire the natural positive-negative such light hues enjoy on such a dark background, and their sense of movement therein. This is an exemplary flatweave of its period, and of versatile size with vast applications.

Condition:

This mid-century Northwest Persian flat weave further enjoys good condition for its age and origin.
