Vintage Northwest Persian Kilim with Multicolor Stripes, from Rug & Kilim

This vintage 5×14 Persian Kilim is believed to be a tribal rug from Meshkin—a small northwestern village known for its fabulous works. Handwoven in wool, it originates circa 1950-1960.

On the Design:

This flatweave is a gallery runner, and enjoys a particularly colorful series of stripes in vibrant, saturated jewel tones. Keen eyes will admire an especially present orange, pink, and blue in its many hues, as well as the sense of movement they lend to such an otherwise simple, pleasant pattern. It’s a fabulous work among Northwest rugs of its period—a warm and whimsical piece able to brighten any space.

Condition:

This mid-century Northwest Persian Kilim further enjoys good condition for its age and origin.
