Vintage Persian Bidjar Kilim in Burgundy with Signature – by Rug & Kilim

This vintage 9×10 Persian Kilim is a new addition of Bidjar provenance in Rug & Kilim’s rare tribal curations. Handwoven in wool, it originates circa 1940-1950.

Bidjar Kilims like this are reputed for their durability and distinct nomadic designs. This particular rare piece enjoys a rich burgundy open field with an extremely minimal border. The constitution embraces a two-panel style with two of the widest panels we’ve ever seen brought together into one piece. A keen eye would note a signature in the upper field as well, and admire its addition to this rug’s collectible stature. This is an unusual, yet beautiful tribal Kilim, and an exemplar of Bidjar style as well.
