Vintage Persian Kilim in Beige-Brown and Red Stripes by Rug & Kilim

This vintage 8×9 Persian Kilim is believed to be a mid-century tribal rug, handwoven in wool circa 1950-1960. 

Its design remarks a Persian panel-weave, in which weavers would combine multiple smaller, narrow flat weaves into one Kilim. A number of provenances have their own take on this style, though this piece may likely be a Jajim Kilim, as they were known for their square rugs of this sensibility. Its design is simple, but rich, and enjoys beige-brown and burgundy red stripes in its all-over pattern. This is a work of rustic old-world charm and comfortable presence—from a celebrated tradition with vast design applications today.
