Vintage Persian Kilim with Panels in Beige-Brown and Blue Stripes by Rug & Kilim

This vintage 6×9 Persian Kilim is believed to be a tribal rug of the 1950s. 

Handwoven in wool, its design remarks the panel-woven flat weave style, in which Persian weaves combine multiple smaller pieces. This creates the look of columns—each with their own pattern like this piece’s play of stripes in many colors. Its look is one of soothing repetition and comfortable presence with vast design applications.
