Vintage Persian Tribal Kilim in Red and Blue Geometric Patterns – by Rug & Kilim

This vintage 3×4 Persian Kilim is an extremely collectible tribal rug— handwoven in wool circa 1950-1960.

This rare piece is made from combining multiple pieces into one, and more specifically marries pile and flat weave in a high-and-low style. Its geometric patterns enjoy the most unusual sense of movement in red, blue, and white tones that still sit gorgeous underfoot. These colors and nomadic symbols seem to connote an Afghani origin, though its style marries several sensibilities. The result is a distinguished piece that plays traditional elements in the most playful transitional fashion like no other.
