Vintage Qashqai Persian Kilim with Blue Medallions by Rug & Kilim

This vintage 5×8 Persian kilim is believed to be a mid-century Qashqai tribal rug. 

Handwoven in wool circa 1950-1960, its design is a rare use of large shapes in a medallion style, relishing bright primary colors that have aged beautifully. Connoisseurs may appreciate how the presence of beige softens the play of bold red, blue & gold tones. It’s an unusual Qashqai rug, both extremely collectible and exemplary of Persian folk art in its playful charm.
