While Older Moroccan Looms Were Too Small To Accommodate Area Rugs Of This Size, Newer Looms Like The One That Produced This Piece Enjoy Spaciousness And Plush, Mixed Pile Height, Such As The Lower Braid-Patterned Fringes And Borders Contrasting The Soft, Off-White Wool Pile Throughout The Field. In Particular, The Geometric Design Is Woven In A Segmented, Lower Black Pattern, Giving Dimensionality To The Field Portrait Surrounded By Interwoven Black Sparks.
