Witnessing a union of Chinese and Persian sensibilities into a new portrait, the sketch features subdued mythological beasts enfolded by hunter patterns in a cool play of lustrous silver/gray & blue tones for a unique impressionist attitude. Hand-knotted in wool, a 6×9 piece where the bold and sophisticated collide.

Connoisseurs may note allusions to horseback riders among the many roaming, slithering, and flying creatures—likely inspired by Persian hunting murals seen among the most sought-after carpets of antiquity.
