This vintage 5×13 Persian Kilim is a tribal rug from Meshkin—a small northwestern village known for its fabulous works. Handwoven in wool, it originates circa 1950-1960.
Further on the Design:
The bold design prefers a black field and salmon red border beneath vibrant geometric patterns in pink, blue, and beige-brown. Keen eyes will further admire the natural positive-negative such light hues enjoy on such a dark background, and their sense of movement therein. This is an exemplar of its provenance, and of versatile size with vast applications.
Further on the Condition:
This mid-century Northwest Persian flat weave further enjoys good condition for its age and origin. It’s ready for the floor, and is available with or without our custom non-slip padding upon request.
