This vintage 5×14 Persian Kilim is a tribal rug from Meshkin—a small northwestern village known for its fabulous works. Handwoven in wool, it originates circa 1950-1960.
Further on the Design:
The bold design prefers a rich brown undertone and colorful punctuations like fuschia pink, orange, and blue in its medallion patterns. Keen eyes will further admire the natural gravity such positive-negative look creates, and the overall gorgeous presence therein. Meticulous detail, movement through variation, and a joyful look are a few of many beauties that set this Kilim apart.
Connoisseurs will further note that same outstanding size, and how rare an extra-long Kilim like this gallery runner is today.
Further on the Condition:
This mid-century Northwest Persian flat weave further enjoys good condition for its age and origin. It’s ready for the floor, and is available with or without our custom-cut non-slip rug padding upon request.
