Vintage Qashqai Persian kilim in Beige with Multicolor Motifs and Red Stripes

This vintage 5×7 Persian Kilim is a tribal rug of Qashqai provenance, handwoven in wool circa 1950-1960.

Further on the Design: 

This tribal rug enjoys an uncommon marriage of nomadic elements—including a narrow field in brighter colors between richer stripes. A beige center hosts bright traditional motifs, while stripes of red, orange and green play beautifully on both sides. Keen eyes will admire subdued chevron patterns within those stripes, further testament to the piece’s rare caliber of intricacy. The result is a very livable, warm flat weave that hosts traditional elements in a playful, pleasant fashion for its period.
