This vintage 5×9 Persian Kilim is a tribal rug we believe to be of Shahsavan provenance. Handwoven in wool, it originates circa 1950-1960.
Further on the Design:
The bold design prefers polychromatic stripes on a slate gray undertone and border that lends a gorgeous positive-negative element. Keen eyes will further admire rust orange, burgundy, and brown in the rich, rustic look these colors evoke. This is a smart, yet so livable rug of its provenance, and furthermore of versatile size with vast applications.
Further on the Condition:
This mid-century Shahsavan Persian flat weave further enjoys good condition for its age and origin. It’s ready for the floor, and is available with or without our custom non-slip padding upon request.
