Vintage Zeki Muren Art Deco rug in Green and Black Pattern, by Rug & Kilim

This vintage 4×7 rug is a new addition to Rug & Kilim’s Mid-Century Pasha Collection. This line is a commemoration, with rare curations we believe to hail from multidisciplinary Turkish designer Zeki Müren.

This design marks one of Müren’s unique takes on Swedish Deco style, and enjoys an intriguing geometric pattern in black and beige. Connoisseurs will note a play of medallion and all-over style, as well as interesting field spandrels with curved designs departing from the angular patterns within. This both creates a natural depth and draws the eye to admire the chartreuse and moss green background hues so beautifully chosen in this design. The play of a mid-century modern design, smart colors, and shabby-chic distressed texture lends a one-of-a-kind look. An exemplar of Müren’s distinguished rugs, and a collectible piece for this period.

This mid-century rug further enjoys an otherwise good condition for this shabby-chic lineage. Ready for the floor, and especially well-suited to projects yearning for country aesthetics.
