This vintage 3×5 rug is a bold new addition to Rug & Kilim’s Mid-Century Pasha Collection. This line is a commemoration, with rare curations we believe to hail from multidisciplinary Turkish designer Zeki Müren.
Further on the Design:
Hand-knotted in wool circa 1960-1970, this design is one of Müren’s rare medallion-style pieces. Its colorway favors a beige-brown field with black patterns and brick-red accents that play beautifully together. Keen eyes may further note a nod to traditional floral patterns reimagined in this expressive and subversive fashion. This playful use of classic influences is one of Müren’s hallmarks that distinguishes him as a student of his craft and makes each piece like this so distinct.
Further on the Condition:
This mid-century rug further enjoys an otherwise good condition for this provenance. Its pile has been lowered, which lends the texture its distressed element.
