Vintage Zeki Müren Rug in Beige, Cream and Brown Patterns by Rug & Kilim

This vintage 7×9 rug is a new addition to Rug & Kilim’s Mid-Century Pasha Collection. This line is a commemoration, with rare curations we believe to hail from multidisciplinary Turkish designer Zeki Müren.

Hand-knotted in wool circa 1960-1970, this design marks one of Müren’s bold mid-century takes on Art Deco sensibilities. It’s an exemplar of his work in many ways, but especially its graphic nature and unusual colors. Keen eyes will admire chocolate brown, beige, and cream notes in geometric patterns like those of an abstract painting.

This mid-century rug further enjoys an otherwise good condition for this shabby-chic style, and is ready for the floor. Keen eyes will note the pile has been lowered to preserve the construction, which lends it a distressed texture.
