Vintage Zeki Müren Rug in Blue with Red Medallion by Rug & Kilim

This vintage 4×8 rug is a new addition to Rug & Kilim’s Mid-Century Pasha Collection. This line is a commemoration, with rare curations we believe to hail from multidisciplinary Turkish designer Zeki Müren.

Further on the Design: 

Hand-knotted in wool circa 1960-1970, this particular rug embodies Müren’s playful interpretations of traditional carpets. Connoisseurs will admire Art Deco rug principles, and even elements of Aubussons in the many motifs at play. The field is a deep blue, while the medallion and border favor brick red—both sporting beige-brown and green geometry and floral patterns with a fine detail. 

Further on the Condition:

This mid-century rug further enjoys an otherwise good condition for this provenance. Keen eyes will note the pile has been lowered, and admire the boho-chic, distressed look it lends the piece.
