This vintage 3×6 rug is a new addition to Rug & Kilim’s Mid-Century Pasha Collection. This line is a commemoration, with rare curations we believe to hail from multidisciplinary Turkish designer Zeki Müren.
Further on the Design:
Hand-knotted in wool circa 1960-1970, this rug reflects a traditional influence reimagined with subtle contemporary elements in Müren’s style. Keen eyes will admire how the colors soften from the navy to sky blue field to the borders, and how rare yet complementary these seafoam accents are to a piece with this sensibility. The floral patterns have an archaic beauty and charm, but a softness too in their unusual, yet approachable colors. The whole design is a playful take on old-world charm, and an exceptional choice in Müren’s rare works.
Further on the Condition:
This mid-century rug enjoys good condition for this shabby-chic lineage. Its pile has been lowered, which lends the piece this distressed, shabby-chic texture.
