Vintage Zeki Muren Rug in Polychromatic Chevron Patterns – by Rug & Kilim

This vintage 6×11 rug is a new addition to Rug & Kilim’s commemorative Mid-Century Pasha Collection. This line is a commemoration of rare curations we believe to hail from mid-century Turkish designer Zeki Müren.

This distressed piece enjoys a dextrous series of chevon patterns in vibrant polychromatic tones you’d seldom see in this low-pile style. Connoisseurs may further admire this among Müren’s “industrial” Art Deco styles, and its finely detailed take on this style. Keen eyes will note reds, beige-browns, pinks, blues, and other playful hues in the colorway. This rug is furthermore a rare large-size piece in the few Müren has ever done.

A lively mid-century design in otherwise good condition for this shabby-chic lineage, worthy of sophisticated projects yearning for country aesthetics. Hand-knotted in wool circa 1960-1970.
