This vintage 5×8 rug is an exciting new addition to Rug & Kilim’s Mid-Century Pasha Collection. This line is a commemoration, with rare curations we believe to hail from multidisciplinary Turkish designer Zeki Müren.
Hand-knotted in wool circa 1960-1970, its design hints at Müren’s cubist and Art Deco influences. Its polychromatic colorway’s sheer attention to detail is a feat, both in its period and Müren’s most rare designs. The way it marries sharp classic geometric patterns with the most modern sense of color has so much presence and life that distinguished Müren’s most celebrated works.
Further on the Condition:
This mid-century Art Deco rug further enjoys an otherwise good condition for its age origin. Note that its pile has been lowered, which lends the texture a subtle distresse look.
