Every Market at High Point is a chance for Rug & Kilim to embrace the new — a new perspective, a new space, a new collection or all of the above.
This Spring we brought our largest collection, and largest team, alike to complement our largest presence to date. While everyone gives their two cents on what’s new, who’s new, what’s better and what’s not in the weeks that follow the market, our best year in revenue alone prompts us to think this deserves our best foot forward in the follow-up, too. Back then, the idea to change our follow-up was simple, but profound — more personal testimonials to share with our mailing list. More input from each of us there since, after all, personal relationships mean more than anything in the pandemic era. Why put all the effort we do into a more engaging, interactive space at the show if not to make the most of its fruits after?
Once again, though, Fall Market at High Point inspires a simple, but profound change to that change itself. Why not share these testimonials with everyone this time instead of just our mailing list?
To that end, we trust our testimonials from teammates new and old alike will find as warm a welcome as we did this year. We hope these photos from another knockout year take you back fondly (or in, if you couldn’t make it). Most of all, we hope we’ll hear your thoughts on the show and see you next year if we didn’t this time!
“It was especially fabulous to be with the boys, and really [almost] the whole family with Rug & Kilim was there. That’s really what stood out for me. Other than that, the shows are continuing to grow. We were happy to have Dena join us — she’s definitely going to be promising a better third-floor showroom next year. We are going to start promoting the third floor, and having events set up.”
“Traffic was down, but we did very well — it was our best show in terms of sales yet [with] more serious buyers from higher end stores. People who had to be there were busy designers with active projects or higher end stores who needed to refresh and buy. Transportation and lodging was expensive, which weeded out any one not too busy or just people who wanted to look around like we normally get at Market. We were successful, as it was our second year in our bigger space at Suites and the push and pull from our booth at IHFC continues to be a successful endeavor. Our booth was colorful, interesting and unique…buyers loved our Tigers and a microcosm of our other collections — refined, happy and intriguing.”
“As we continue our growth and endeavors to reach new markets, we’ve followed suit by bringing on new team members and expanding our offering. Our team was incredible, working hard to the last day and putting smiles on peoples faces along the way. While there was maybe a decrease in the traffic from previous shows, we maintained our energy at the booth and continued to have success. We like to engage our buyers, pull people in and bring the energy from our NY showroom to High Point. This year we definitely achieved that! We bring an edge to the market and it’s always fun to see how well-received it is. I’m looking forward to reconnecting with all the new faces I met and capitalizing on relationships.”
“This was my second time at HPM, and it was a great show once again. We had a different team this time around, an all-female group (alongside the Nazmiyals). This was really exciting to experience and quite empowering. The Tiger Collection was once again roaring and soaring per usual as were our Scandinavian pieces and the newest additions to our Moroccan Collection were very well received. We once again brought the Rug&Kilim Showroom to HPM and with our inventory and energy, we made heads turn. I am looking forward to connecting with the great designers I met at market and coming back next year!”
“Having recently joined the Rug & Kilim family four weeks prior, Highpoint was the perfect introduction to [our] innovative collections and welcoming team. As my first Highpoint, I was impressed not only with the market but especially with how Rug & Kilim stood out as industry leaders. With a background in design, I was constantly in awe of the beauty around me and the energy of our booth. It was such a valuable experience to listen and learn from Josh and made me even more excited to be part of such an inspiring team.”
“High Point was at the top of its design game. Vendors were showcasing the Veri Peri, the new Pantone color of the year in bed covering, throws, pillows and of course rugs. The antiques and one of a kind were very strong and the crowds did not disappoint. Rug & Kilim had a great show and the Tiger and Scandinavian rugs were a huge success!”
