Handwoven in a wool flat weave originating circa 1910-1920, this antique Kilim rug connotes a Northwest Persian Kilim design, one of our principal’s personal favorite selections from our collection with a rare wine burgundy colorway. Set against a gray-black background, the richness of the burgundy in the medallion figures juxtaposes the bright accenting orange and pink hues in the motifs and border meander with a natural depth and invitation, bringing out the eclectic movement and sense of culture this antique Persian Kilim rug enjoys to no small degree. Further enjoying only mild wear, consistent with the age of this piece, in a versatile 5×10 size well-suited to hallway, entryway, stairway, and table runner projects.
