The Process

I. Concept & Collaboration

It all begins with a conversation. Our design team works closely with you to understand the intent and character of your space. We welcome sketches, mood boards, material palettes, and anything else that helps shape your idea into an initial direction.

II. Materials & Techniques

We curate selections of premium yarns—wool, silk, hemp, jute, and innovative blends—each hand-selected for performance, texture, and tone. Our swatch wall and sample archive allow you to feel and visualize options before a single knot is tied.

III. Rendering & Sampling

Our team provides digital renderings and custom strike-offs to fine-tune design, color, and scale. This step ensures complete clarity and confidence in the final outcome before production begins.

IV. Weaving, Finishing & Installing

Once approved, your rug is handwoven by skilled artisans using time-honored techniques and ethical practices. From there, each piece is washed, finished, and inspected in-house to meet Rug & Kilim’s exacting standards and installed by our white-glove service.
