Vintage Qashqai Persian Jajim Kilim in with Multicolor Stripes by Rug & Kilim

This vintage 5×6 Persian kilim is a Jajim flat weave of the Qashqai tribe—handwoven in wool circa 1950-1960.

Connoisseurs may appreciate the Jajim technique, known to favor near-square sizes and stripes. Its technique is a panel-weave, in which tribal weaves combine two flat weaves into one larger piece. This method creates the vertical stripes you see in alternating tones of red, blue, orange and beige-brown.

Classic Persian Kilims like this further enjoy natural vegetable dyes, which achieve these exceptional colors that age beautifully. The whole piece is in good condition for its age and origin, and is ready for the floor.
