Vintage Persian Kilim in Red and White Plaid Geometric Pattern by Rug & Kilim

This vintage 5×8 Kilim is believed to be a tribal rug of the 1950s. Handwoven in wool, its design reflects a tribal panel weave, in which several pieces are woven into one Kilim. 

This particular rug enjoys an interesting take on this traditional style in plaid-like plays of red, off-white and black. Keen eyes will further note colorful textural embroidery on the borders, and admire their playful complement to its presence. It’s a whimsical flat weave that captures the personal nature of rare tribal Kilims and their rustic charm.
