This 8x11 vintage Scandinavian rug is believed to be a mid-century Ege Axminster rug, made with all-natural wool in Denmark circa 1950-1960. A new addition to Rug & Kilim’s curations of mid-century folk art, its "Mountain Life" design is a plays medallion and all-over style with both geometric patterns and floral motifs in field and border alike.

The rug displays the beauty of Scandinavian folk art through an expressive range of animals, flowers, and people clustering around huts like those of a village. Beige-brown tones underscore green, pink and rust tones in particular among the many at play.
